The village of Madhesh, in the Shkopet valley, has continued to face a lack of electricity for nearly 20 years. The supply is partial, as the electrical substation is not functioning, leaving a considerable number of residents without power.

The village head, Zef Gjeçi, explains that only subscribers living near the national road receive regular service. Residents on the other side of the lake, he says, live in darkness.
The problem also poses a risk to public safety, as the distribution transformer has been placed outdoors rather than inside a protected substation.
Gjeçi is calling on OSHEE to intervene to restore the supply throughout the village and secure the transformer.
Residents say that resolving the electricity situation would give the area new development opportunities, particularly in tourism.
