Another letter from Arlinda Zekaj addressed to institutions was made public on Sunday, one week after she was killed by her former brother-in-law, Albert Sylaj.
Following the violence inflicted on her, which ended tragically with Zekaj’s murder, her former husband, Jeton Sylaj, was also arrested. Both brothers have been remanded in custody for one month.

The case has prompted widespread reactions because of the way it was handled by the investigative and judicial authorities, while further communications from the deceased woman continue to be published.
Natyra Kuçi published a letter that Arlinda Zekaj had addressed to Judge Migjen Kastrati.
In the letter, Zekaj asks the judge to find time to issue a protection order for her, as well as to establish custody of her son.
“For you, it is routine; for me, it is life, and only God knows why He chose you to save lives,” reads part of the letter Arlinda Zekaj sent to the judge on September 7, 2026.
