The Albanian Alliance announced that, during several months of negotiations on amendments to the Electoral Code, it presented its proposals on electoral districts, the financing model and a number of other issues, while working toward reaching consensus.
However, the party underlined that it will not back down from its demand that the diaspora be given the opportunity to vote in local elections as well. According to it, if this is not made possible, it will continue to block the law signed by several parties.

The full reaction of the Albanian Alliance:
During the several-month meetings between the parties on the Electoral Code, the Albanian Alliance had its own proposals both for the electoral districts and for the financing model, as well as for many other issues. But we were working toward consensus.
The point on which we will not give in is the possibility for the diaspora to vote in local elections as well. It is very simple.
If this is not made possible, we will continue to block the law signed by several parties.
