Police have arrested a 65-year-old from Skopje following a serious accident on the Kumanovo–Skopje highway, in which two people lost their lives and three others were injured.

The incident was reported on September 19, 2026, at around 21:35, to the Kumanovo Police Department. The accident occurred in the direction of Skopje, near the village of Agaqoji, where a Mercedes vehicle with Skopje license plates, driven by M.M. (65) from Skopje, collided with an Opel Corsa, also with Skopje plates, driven by S.N. (27), also from Skopje.
As a result of the collision, the passengers of the Opel Corsa, V.N. (49) and L.M. (71), both from Skopje, died at the scene.
Passenger L.N. (48) sustained severe bodily injuries. Meanwhile, fellow passenger B.N. (28) and the driver of the vehicle, S.N. (27), also suffered bodily injuries. All three injured were transported for treatment to the Mother Teresa Clinical Complex in Skopje.
An investigation at the accident scene was conducted by a team from the Kumanovo Police Department. By order of the public prosecutor, the driver of the Mercedes, M.M., was detained by the police. After the documentation of the case is completed, a corresponding criminal report will be filed against him.
