A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, about 450 kilometers northeast of Kabul, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
According to USGS data, the epicenter was recorded at a depth of more than 208 kilometers.

The earthquake was felt in the provinces of Khost and Nangarhar, while the tremors also reached Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
So far, there have been no official reports of casualties or material damage.
