US President Donald Trump has described the migrant situation in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta as something that goes beyond even armed aggression, calling on the North Atlantic Alliance to take concrete action.

During an interview with GB News, Trump said NATO should respond without delay. According to him, what is happening in Spain resembles a full-scale invasion of a country but, in many respects, is even more alarming than a conventional military offensive.
In the final days of July, Ceuta was hit by a large wave of migrants arriving from Morocco. Figures released by the Spanish interior minister show that around 72,000 people managed to cross into Spanish territory along the North African coastline.
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that investigations are still under way to determine the causes of this mass movement, without ruling out the possibility of a covert role by the Moroccan authorities. Trump seized the opportunity to sharply criticize Spain, which did not side with him in his confrontation with Iran.
He warned that Spain risks being destroyed and recalled previous disagreements with Madrid, stressing that the country is not meeting its financial obligations to NATO. In his comments to the British broadcaster, he described the entire situation as deeply distressing.
Trump added that he had never witnessed a similar scene before. This is not the first time he has spoken openly about the unrest in Ceuta.
Immediately after thousands of migrants arrived in late July, the US president accused the Sánchez government of weak laws and poor leadership, sarcastically remarking that the Spanish authorities were completely bewildered by the crisis.
