Cesar Gastelum, a Mexican influencer known for his humorous videos, was shot dead while livestreaming on TikTok outside a fast-food restaurant in Culiacán, Mexico.

The incident occurred as Gastelum, who had around 600,000 followers on TikTok, was standing with several friends. According to local authorities, two helmeted individuals approached them on a motorcycle.
Footage from the livestream shows the moment one of the attackers opened fire on the influencer, killing him at the scene.
Gastelum’s death was confirmed by a security official in the state of Sinaloa. Meanwhile, a large-scale operation has been launched in the area where the crime occurred to identify and arrest those responsible.
The assassination took place as Culiacán faces a growing wave of violence linked to a conflict between rival organized crime factions fighting for control of the territory.
The case also brings renewed attention to the murder of beauty influencer Valeria Márquez. In May 2025, she was shot dead during a TikTok livestream inside the salon where she worked. Mexican authorities later arrested Ramón Ángel Álvarez Ayala, who is suspected of organizing her murder.
