According to relevant institutions, these structures were built without permits on land administered by the “Ibër-Lepenc” enterprise, sparking discussions on property rights and jurisdiction of authorities.
Faruk Mujka, the executive director of this enterprise, explained to “Bota sot” that the affected lands have been property of “Ibër-Lepenc” since the expropriation process carried out in 1973, when the lake was constructed.

He emphasized that operations to free usurped properties will extend to every territory where public property is encroached upon, regardless of the ethnic origin of the violators.
“These parcels are not simply under administration; they are full property of ‘Ibër-Lepenc’ since the expropriation for the lake in 1973. Our infrastructure is critical and must absolutely remain under the complete control of the enterprise. Moreover, the lake serves as a water source for one third of the population of the Republic of Kosovo,” said Mujka.
Speaking about future plans, he added: “The action to free public properties, in this case those of ‘Ibër-Lepenc’, will continue wherever usurpations and illegal constructions are found, regardless of nationality.”
