An apartment in Piraeus, Greece, was engulfed by a major fire on Monday afternoon, with several explosions also heard coming from inside.

The flames broke out at around 18:52 on the first floor of the apartment building and remain active.
Fifteen firefighters and five vehicles, as well as a special vehicle equipped with a platform, have been deployed to extinguish the blaze.
Preliminary reports indicate that firefighting crews safely evacuated residents from the other floors, along with people in nearby buildings.
So far, there have been no reports of anyone trapped inside the building.
Footage from the scene shows a thick cloud of black smoke engulfing the building. Residents said they heard explosions coming from the apartment that was on fire.
