Osman Selmani, a citizen of Kosovo, was arrested by Serbian authorities at the Mutivodë border crossing while returning from Medvegjë to Pristina.
Serbia’s High Court has ordered 30 days of pretrial detention for him. Selmani was detained on July 1 at the Mutivodë border crossing on suspicion of committing war crimes.

Osman Selmani’s family members and friends have appealed for help, stressing that the allegations of war crimes against him are unfounded.
Their appeal states that, according to the information they have, during the period from April to June 1999, when the events for which he is accused are alleged to have taken place, Selmani was a refugee at the Çegran Refugee Camp in Gostivar.
