Democratic Party of Kosovo leader Bedri Hamza held a meeting today with the non-resident ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to Kosovo, Ragnar Almqvist. The discussion focused on political developments in the country, European integration and relations between Kosovo and Ireland.
Hamza thanked the ambassador for Ireland’s continued support for Kosovo. He also praised Ireland’s priorities as holder of the presidency of the Council of the European Union, describing the country as an inspiring example of economic development and citizens’ well-being.

The sides also discussed the political situation after the elections, with particular emphasis on the need to form new institutions as soon as possible.
According to Hamza, the PDK supports the advancement of Western Balkan countries toward the European Union and calls for Kosovo to be granted candidate country status.
At the end of the meeting, Hamza stressed that Kosovo’s strategic goal remains unchanged: full membership in NATO and the European Union.
