The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the start of a new wave of airstrikes against Iran.
In a post on platform X, CENTCOM stated that the new operation began in the morning hours and targets Iranian military capabilities.

According to the statement, U.S. forces began the strikes at 06:00 Eastern Time.
The U.S. military clarified that these strikes aim to further weaken the military capabilities used by Iran to hit commercial ships sailing in the Strait of Hormuz.
This military action comes after Washington reinstated the naval blockade on Iranian ports and carried out another series of strikes on targets inside Iran. The military announced that the previous wave of strikes, conducted last night, ended around 22:00 Eastern Time and targeted dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and in coastal areas.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has reiterated threats against Tehran, stressing that the U.S. could strike bridges and power plants in Iran next week if Iranian authorities do not agree to return to the negotiating table.
