This morning, a tragic accident occurred in the Akhisar area of Manisa province, Turkey, where a tour bus collided with a crane, killing at least 11 people and injuring 27 others.
According to Turkish media, including TRT Haber, the serious accident occurred near the Akhisar toll booth on the Gebze–Orhangazi–Izmir highway.

In footage from the scene, the bus can be seen overturned. Rescue teams broke the vehicle’s windows to remove the passengers.
Emergency teams and several ambulances arrived at the scene, while the injured were transported to hospitals for medical treatment.
So far, the causes and circumstances of the tragic accident have not been clarified.
Authorities’ response
The Manisa Governor’s Office issued a statement regarding the incident.
“Medical and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, while operations to rescue citizens affected by the accident began immediately. As a result of the accident, 11 citizens lost their lives, while 27 others were injured. The injured have been transported to hospitals. We are closely monitoring the situation in cooperation with all the responsible institutions,” the statement said.
Turkey’s Interior Minister, Mustafa Çiftçi, also responded in a post on social media.
