U.S. Congressman Gregory Meeks stressed that Kosovo should continue maintaining close ties with the United States, while expressing support for its integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions.

He made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of the Council for Albanian-American Relations (AARC).
According to a statement published by AARC on Facebook, the discussions focused on Kosovo, Albania, the Preševo Valley and U.S. policy toward the Western Balkans.
The statement said that Meeks, who serves as the senior minority member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, reaffirmed his support for Albania’s path toward membership in the European Union and for deepening strategic relations with the United States.
