Speaking at the opening of the 11th Pan-Albanian Congress of Dentistry, Kurti emphasized that oral healthcare is directly linked to overall health and that dentists witness every day the impact it has on patients’ lives.
This year’s congress is being held under the theme “Modern dentistry: Advancing oral health through science, clinical practice and innovation.”
According to the prime minister, the next step will be to make the polyclinics operational in existing facilities, as well as to construct new facilities in areas where they are currently lacking.
Kurti also announced that the necessary procedures for the construction of a new facility for the University Clinical Dental Center of Kosovo had been completed. According to him, the facility will provide more suitable conditions for treating patients and for healthcare staff to practice their profession.
“As a university center, it has a special responsibility for teaching and scientific research. Investing in it is an investment in the knowledge and abilities of the generations that will further develop our healthcare system. Dentistry is care and service; it is a profession and a science. Patients benefit when clinical practice, education and scientific research move forward together,” Kurti said.
The 11th edition of the Pan-Albanian Congress of Dentistry, organized by the Kosovo Dental Association, will continue tomorrow.
