A tanker carrying crude oil has been hit in the Strait of Hormuz, marking the second incident involving a vessel in just a few hours.

The incident was reported by UKMTO, the British maritime security information service. According to the service, the captain said the tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile.
At the time of the attack, the vessel was about 4 nautical miles east of Oman.
No crew members were injured. Authorities have yet to determine the extent of the damage to the vessel or whether the incident caused any environmental harm.
The incident comes shortly after another reported attack on a vessel in the same strait.
The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the world’s main corridors for transporting hydrocarbons. Before the outbreak of war, about 20% of the world’s hydrocarbons passed through it.
