A high-level group of U.S. national security officials met at Camp David on Friday to review future developments concerning Iran, as well as the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The meeting was led by Vice President J.D. Vance and, according to Axios, had not previously been made public by the Trump administration. Those attending included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House special envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine.

U.S. sources cited by Axios said the discussions lasted several hours and focused on concrete options on the two conflict fronts. A similar meeting was held at Camp David in June 2025, just days before the escalation of the confrontation between Israel and Iran.
The meeting took place at a time when talks with Tehran have stalled, while the Trump administration is considering the possibility of new military actions against Iran. On Thursday, President Donald Trump said Iran must decide whether it will reach an agreement or face the consequences.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia has asked Washington to support a planned offensive against the Houthis in Yemen, which is also expected to include airstrikes. So far, the United States has not decided whether to join the operation directly, but it is providing non-combat assistance, including intelligence and targeting information.
Asked on Friday about the administration’s next action toward Iran, Trump offered no details, saying developments would become known at a later point. The White House has not commented on reports of the secret meeting at Camp David.
