The Government of the Republic of Kosovo held its fourth electronic meeting, at which it approved a decision on the request of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo concerning the legislative initiative for “Draft Law No. 11/L-001 on amending and supplementing Law No. 05/L-053 on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office”.

The decision was made in response to the request of the Assembly of Kosovo, Prot. No. 1108, dated 23 September 2026, for an assessment of this legislative initiative.
The government said its response includes three main elements: a legal opinion on the draft law’s compatibility with the European Union acquis, a budget impact analysis, and a legal opinion on the content of the draft law.
In its announcement, the government explained that during the electronic meeting, it approved the decision to respond to the request of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Prot. No. 1108, dated 23 September 2026, concerning the initiative for “Draft Law No. 11/L-001 on amending and supplementing Law No. 05/L-053 on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office”.
According to the decision, the assessment of this initiative includes a legal opinion on its compatibility with the EU acquis, an assessment of its budgetary impact, and a legal opinion on the content of the draft law.
