Following the September 16 decision concerning the former KLA leaders in The Hague, protests and rallies in support of them have continued in Kosovo and other countries.

The civic mobilization, which began immediately after the decision, is expected to reach its peak on October 1 in Pristina, where the “Freedom Has a Name” platform has organized the March for Freedom.
Citizens and representatives of organizations emerging from the war have taken part in the protests held so far. Participants have expressed their support for the former KLA leaders and their opposition to the latest decision by the court in The Hague.
Hysni Gucati, chairman of the KLA War Veterans Organization, said he expects citizens from Kosovo, the diaspora and all Albanian-inhabited regions to gather for the October 1 march.
He said that the protests launched after September 16 would continue until the day of the march, while calling for the rally to be held peacefully and calmly.
Gucati urged participants to be careful, avoid insults and refrain from clashing with the Kosovo Police.
“The former KLA leaders have been handed an unjust decision. The protests began on September 16 and will continue until October 1, when I expect people to join the march. Our commitment is for the protest to be calm and peaceful. We must be careful, not insult our police, and I expect Albanians from all the places where they live to join this protest,” Gucati said.
According to him, the protest should also convey a clear message to the international community. He expects Albanians from various countries to take part in the event.
The head of the KLA War Veterans Organization announced that other rallies are expected to be organized in Albania, North Macedonia and several European countries. Among them, he also mentioned the protest announced for October 10 in Brussels, in front of NATO headquarters.
Gucati expressed optimism about the outcome of the appeals process in The Hague for the former KLA leaders. He believes that through the protests, the truth about the war will be conveyed to the international community, as he put it.
