Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti held a meeting today with his Croatian counterpart, Andrej Plenković, during his stay in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.

The talks covered relations between the two countries, developments in the region, cooperation in security and defense, Kosovo’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and its economic development.
Kurti said that he also raised the issue of the Specialist Chambers’ decision at the meeting, pointing out what he described as an unfair disparity in the allocation of responsibility for the war.
Part of the discussions focused on missing persons, mass graves recently discovered in Kosovo, and the obstacles created by Serbia’s failure to open its archives. The ongoing administrative discrimination against Albanians in the Preševo Valley was also mentioned.
The Kosovo prime minister welcomed the cooperation between the justice ministries of Kosovo and Croatia regarding the case of Bajram Bajrami, who had been unjustly detained in Croatia and was released today.
Kurti praised the close cooperation with Croatia in the fields of defense and the military, as well as Zagreb’s support for Kosovo’s membership in the European Union and the Council of Europe and for its advancement within Euro-Atlantic structures. The meeting also included an exchange of views on security challenges in the region, Russia’s influence, and the need to strengthen cooperation among countries and partners.
