Hayden Panettiere was found unconscious on August 16 in her apartment in South Carolina, where she was with her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach Hickerson. According to police, emergency services were alerted by an acquaintance of the actress.

An officer who went to the apartment said he saw paramedics performing CPR on an unresponsive woman. He added that no obvious physical cause that could explain her condition was observed at the time.
The Greenville County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the American actress died as a result of the toxic effects of fentanyl and other substances.
Traces of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine were found in the 36-year-old’s body. Medical examiners found no signs of trauma and classified the manner of death as accidental.
The Greenville Police Department also said that the preliminary investigation found no evidence of illegal activity or suspicious circumstances.

Her father, Skip Panettiere, said that his daughter had brought love and joy to the people who knew her, as well as to the millions of fans who had followed her on screen.
