Former Kosovo Prime Minister and former leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, remembered Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi on the anniversary of his assassination. He stressed that such anniversaries bring back into focus the high price Kosovo paid for its freedom.

According to the former prime minister, the colonel’s execution left a deep void, but his vision of creating a regular and institutional army was realized.
Haradinaj concluded his message by paying tribute to the life and work of Ahmet Krasniqi, expressing gratitude for his contribution.
Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi was killed on September 21, 1998, in Tirana. He served as Minister of Defense in the Government in Exile of the Republic of Kosovo, which was led by Bujar Bukoshi. The circumstances of his assassination have still not been clarified.
