The hearing was held inside a hotel in Berat, but following the verbal clashes, the Poliçan delegation decided to leave the meeting.
The meeting began with remarks by Minister of Local Government Ervin Demo. Immediately after he finished his presentation, the residents of Poliçan asked to speak in order to present their concerns. Prime Minister Rama reacted harshly, addressing them with the words, “Shut your mouths.”
The prime minister’s words irritated those present and led to a tense confrontation with Poliçan Mayor Adriatik Zotkaj, as well as with actress Egla Ceno.
In protest against the head of government’s stance, the entire delegation from Poliçan boycotted the meeting and left the hall.
