Jeton Zulfaj, the chief negotiator of the Republic of Kosovo with the European Union, held a meeting today with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kosovo, Rainer Rudolph.
At the meeting, he highlighted the importance of securing candidate country status and launching accession negotiations with the European Union.

According to Zulfaj, Kosovo’s membership in the EU does not represent merely a formal procedure, but a process with a transformative effect that strengthens democracy, accelerates economic development, and improves the well-being of citizens.
“Kosovo is interested and fully invested in this process, while Germany’s support is important in moving it forward,” Zulfaj said.
He thanked Ambassador Rudolph for the continuous support Germany has given to Kosovo, emphasizing that relations between the two states are based on shared values and are further strengthened by the role of the Kosovar diaspora in Germany.
Zulfaj also praised Germany’s contribution to the European Union enlargement process, as well as to the region’s economic integration through the Berlin Process.
The progress of the reforms that Kosovo is implementing within the framework of the Growth Plan was also part of the discussions.
