Armend Zemaj, an MP-elect from the Democratic League of Kosovo, has confirmed that the initiative to convene an Extraordinary Assembly is aimed at replacing the party leader, citing the election results as the reason.

According to him, the request should be reviewed and the Assembly organized within the most appropriate timeframe possible. Zemaj stressed that the LDK has experience in holding party assemblies and is known for fostering internal democracy, so organizing them poses no problem.
He explained that the party statute provides a 60-day deadline for holding the Assembly. However, given the manner in which the request was submitted, Zemaj believes the procedures should be completed as soon as possible.
Speaking about the collection of signatures, he rejected claims that the process had encountered obstacles. According to Zemaj, some signatures were not submitted, while other individuals backed the request even after the list had been submitted.
Zemaj emphasized that the number of signatures is not the main issue. In his view, what matters is convening the Assembly, where delegates should be given the opportunity to express their position.
