The Ministry of Defense has issued an assessment of the wildfire situation across the country over the past 24 hours, reporting 28 fires, five of which remain active.

A total of 64 firefighting vehicles, 631 operational personnel, 90 members of the Armed Forces, three helicopters and an Air Force “Air Tractor” aircraft have been deployed in operations to contain and extinguish the flames.
Situation in Dajt
Efforts to extinguish the fire are continuing in the Dajt area, with the involvement of MZSH and ADZM personnel, as well as 50 members of the Armed Forces. The Air Force’s “Air Tractor” aircraft is supporting the operation, while there is no danger to populated areas.
Mallakastër, flames nearing containment
In the villages of Riban and Ngraçan, in the municipality of Mallakastër, the situation is moving toward containment thanks to the coordinated intervention of operational forces on the ground and from the air. Firefighting forces from several municipalities, police and local authorities, volunteers, members of the Armed Forces, helicopters and the “Air Tractor” aircraft have been deployed in the operation. Four families have been temporarily evacuated for safety reasons.
Fires under control in Elbasan, Berat, Dibër and Gjirokastër
Efforts are continuing at the fire sites in Shqiponjë, Mount Dardhë and the village of Mjekës, in Elbasan County. The fire in Shqiponjë is under control, the blaze on Mount Dardhë has been contained, while work to fully extinguish the fire in Mjekës is continuing. No danger to populated areas has been reported.
In Kostren, in the municipality of Berat, the area is being combed and monitored. In Pocest, in the municipality of Dibër, the fire was extinguished following the intervention of operational forces, while the fires in the Stegopull–Selckë area and in Levenishtë, Gjirokastër County, have been extinguished and are being monitored.
More than 34 hectares of land burned
According to the Ministry of Defense, the fires have affected approximately 34.5 hectares of grassland, scrubland, pine forest and mixed forest, while the area affected by the active fires remains under assessment.
