The first scenario places him still in Iran, where he may be sheltered in a bunker or an underground facility for security reasons. According to this theory, he is recovering from injuries sustained during previous attacks.
Another claim is that Mojtaba Khamenei has secretly left for Russia, but the analysis considers this possibility unlikely.
The third variant, which some of the cited sources consider the most likely, says that he is alive but suffering from a serious health condition that prevents him from carrying out his duties. In this situation, decision-making is suspected to be led by the heads of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Doubts about what is happening in the Iranian leadership have increased also because of his absence from public appearances, official ceremonies, and traditional messages to the people.
