A total of 28 new direct air routes have been added from Macedonia’s airports, expanding travel options for citizens and bringing the country closer to international visitors, the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party announced.

Skopje International Airport now offers direct flights to Paris, Barcelona, Lyon, Amsterdam, Ljubljana, Madrid, Stockholm, Cologne, Bari, Prague, Larnaca, Naples, Budapest, Alghero and Palermo.
Meanwhile, Ohrid Airport has introduced new routes to Istanbul, Basel, Larnaca, Madrid, Stuttgart, Bari, Stockholm, Katowice, Wroclaw, Milan, Bratislava and Vienna.
VMRO-DPMNE believes that this expansion will have a direct impact on the economy by boosting tourism, particularly in Ohrid. According to the party, the new connections will also enable local companies to communicate more easily with international partners and markets.
The ruling party says that the addition of air destinations is part of the Government’s policies to create more travel opportunities and strengthen North Macedonia’s ties with Europe and the world.
