NORAD said the interception took place at around 7:50 a.m. local time. During the operation, the fighter jet deployed flares to attract the pilot’s attention and establish communication, after which the civilian aircraft was safely escorted out of the restricted airspace.
The incident was also reported by US media outlets. The president’s official schedule also confirmed that Trump was at Camp David on Saturday.
Published information on the temporary flight restriction indicates that special security measures were in place around the presidential retreat during Trump’s stay. General aviation flights were prohibited within a 10-nautical-mile radius, while aircraft operating within the 10-to-30-nautical-mile zone were subject to additional requirements.
