In a message published on the Truth Social platform, Trump said the U.S. Navy had informed him that the mine-clearing operation in the strait had been completed.
“All mines have been removed and/or neutralized from the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz,” the U.S. president wrote.
According to Trump, Tehran had been informed that any ship or vessel attempting to lay additional mines would be destroyed.
“Iran has been informed that any ship or vessel laying new mines will be immediately and systematically destroyed,” he declared.
The U.S. president said that a “zero-tolerance policy” had been applied to any new attempt to mine the strait.
Trump added that the United States was using the capabilities of the U.S. Space Force to keep the area under continuous surveillance.
“Through the Space Force, we monitor every square inch of the Strait,” he said in his post.
Trump also mentioned monitoring the Strait of Hormuz in connection with the Pickaxe Mountain area and the three other nuclear facilities, which he said had been destroyed.
