Donald Trump has warned Iran that the United States will respond forcefully to any attack that causes casualties among US troops.

“For every American soldier Iran kills, they will pay a price many times over for that killing!” the US president wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Trump announced that he had relayed this order to the highest-ranking US military officials, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Daniel Kane, and other military leaders.
The US president also responded to Zohran Mamdani. The New York City mayor had suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could be arrested if he visited the city.
“Netanyahu will never be arrested while he is in the United States. Netanyahu is fighting Iran,” Trump said.
At the same time, international media have reported explosions in two provinces in southern Iran, while tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high.
