Thousands of users worldwide reported on Sunday outages on Facebook, Instagram and Facebook Messenger, all owned by Meta. More than 4,000 reports had been filed on Downdetector, which tracks outages affecting websites and online services.
According to Downdetector, a live outage tracker, problems began around 3:25 a.m. Eastern Time, with thousands of users reporting issues in the United States. Media reported that some users also reported problems accessing Instagram at the same time, as both social networks are owned by Meta.
