Democrats gathered today to select the party’s new Presidency, after the National Council had earlier been elected.
Until now, Edi Paloka headed the National Council, but he decided not to run again for the post. Meanwhile, DP chairman Sali Berisha announced that it had been decided that leadership of this forum would be entrusted to a woman.

For the post of chairwoman of the National Council, members will vote between Julia Emiri and Silva Hasa.
As for the Presidency, the vote will be held through three lists: male candidates, youth candidates, and female candidates.
In the men’s list, the presence of 6 MPs, 4 former MPs, Kavaja Mayor Fisnik Qosja, as well as Alfred Lela and Dorjan Teliti, stands out.
According to the DP’s instruction, 6 will be chosen from the 15 female candidates, 6 will be selected from the 25 young candidates, and 8 winners will emerge from the 21 male candidates.
Proposed as members of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Albania, of whom 6 will be elected, are:
