For the tenth consecutive night, United States forces have carried out airstrikes inside Iranian territory, as officials in Washington say military operations will continue alongside open diplomatic channels with Tehran.

The targets struck by US aircraft included missile and drone complexes, as well as other military infrastructure assets. The White House announced that the offensive would continue for as long as President Donald Trump orders.

Trump has framed the intervention as a response to Iran’s provocative behavior. In his latest public appearances, he has stressed that threats to commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz would trigger a much stronger response, while also vowing to avenge the three US soldiers who were killed over the weekend.

The administration is defending the expansion of the mission, despite Trump’s previous rhetoric about ending prolonged conflicts involving the US.

Although concerns remain over a rise in oil prices and the conflict’s impact on the midterm elections, sources within the US administration say these are not the main concerns at present.

Reports from the ground described powerful explosions at several strategic locations in Iran during the tenth night of the air campaign, particularly in coastal areas and on islands near the Strait of Hormuz shipping corridor.

Reports of detonations came from Qeshm Island, the largest island in the strait, as well as from the vital ports of Bandar Abbas and Bandar Lengeh.

Further strikes were reported in Sirik, a region considered strategic because of its proximity to major shipping routes.

Explosions were also recorded in the cities of Konarak and Chabahar, in Sistan-Baluchistan province, as well as in Shiraz. In the city of Bushehr, home to a nuclear power plant, air defenses were activated.

For its part, Tehran has warned that it will not leave US aggression unanswered.

Iranian ground forces confirmed that they had targeted US HIMARS rocket launchers deployed at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, describing the action as part of a broader campaign against US military bases and equipment in the region.

At the same time, Iran’s representative to the United Nations submitted an official letter condemning the latest attack targeting an Iranian nuclear power plant.

The escalation in tensions has heightened international alarm over security in the Persian Gulf and the potential consequences for global energy markets.
