Protesters said the rallies would continue over the coming weeks until their demands are met. In addition to Edi Rama’s resignation, participants are also calling for changes to the way the political class operates.

Another protest has been announced for Monday morning outside Parliament. Shortly before Sunday’s rally began, activist Arben Kola publicly called on citizens to gather tomorrow, July 27, in Skanderbeg Square, from where they will march toward the Albanian Parliament building.

The next protest is expected to take place at the same time as the final two plenary sessions of this parliamentary session. The rally comes immediately after the protest held outside Parliament last Thursday, which was marked by considerable tension.
