The gathering, which is entering its fifth consecutive day, is scheduled to begin at 21:00 and aims to express opposition to the first-instance decision of the Special Court against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
The “Freedom Has a Name” platform announced in a brief notice: “See you at 21:00 in the square.”
The previous day, during the afternoon, various cities across the Diaspora became the scene of protests against the decision, including in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
The Trial Panel found the four defendants guilty on September 16, sentencing them to a total of 81 years in prison.
Hashim Thaçi and Jakup Krasniqi were each sentenced to 25 years in prison, Kadri Veseli was sentenced to 18 years, while Rexhep Selimi received a 13-year sentence, with the time spent in pretrial detention included in the calculation.
