At an event organized for the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence, the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, Anu Prattipati, said that America’s history is not built only within its borders, but also through the friendships and partnerships forged around the world, highlighting its relationship with Kosovo.
She stressed that the United States stands by Kosovo, just as, according to her, Kosovo has always stood by the United States.

“Few friendships embody this spirit more clearly than the one built between the United States and the people of Kosovo. This is a relationship built on shared values, mutual respect and a common belief in a future shaped by security and opportunity…
Our past has brought us closer to nations that share the same way of thinking, the same objectives and principles. Kosovo has consistently stood alongside the United States, supporting our priorities, contributing to the international stabilization force, the Peace Board, and investing in technology and education.
In the same way, the United States stands by Kosovo. We support Kosovo in its efforts to build strong democratic institutions. We are also with Kosovo in its work to build a prosperous economy that attracts investment and expands opportunities for all the country’s citizens.
We also look forward to our partnership growing even stronger, including increased trade exchanges that drive shared prosperity. Because a stable, democratic and prosperous Kosovo serves not only its own people, but is also beneficial for Europe and the world.

On the other hand, Kosovo’s acting president, Albulena Haxhiu, recalled that during Bill Clinton’s presidency, with Madeleine Albright at the center of American diplomacy, the United States led NATO’s intervention, giving political and diplomatic weight to the effort that stopped the war and paved the way for Kosovo’s freedom.

“For the people of Kosovo, American leadership became part of our national history, because it changed the course of our history.
From that freedom, the Republic of Kosovo was born. It took shape through institutions, elections, courts, security forces and the constitutional order that belongs to all its citizens.
250 years after America’s Independence, we honor the United States above all for the idea from which it began: that power must be accountable to the people.
For Albanians and for the Republic of Kosovo today, this idea became tangible through history. It became real when American leadership helped turn the right to freedom from a demand into a future.
Tonight, our congratulations are accompanied by the gratitude of a sovereign republic. We remember that American support helped make our freedom possible, and we know that the best way to honor that support is to build a state worthy of it.
Across generations, the friendship between Kosovo and the United States has been strengthened through citizens, institutions and tireless work to protect freedom in public life,” Haxhiu said.
On this occasion, the official presentation was also made of SideRunner, an advanced dual-use unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), and the start of its production in Kosovo was also announced.
SideRunner is the result of a strategic partnership between Stridar Inc. in the United States of America and Stridar Kosovo LLC, combining American innovation with Kosovo’s engineering and manufacturing capacities.
As part of this cooperation, Kosovo will play a central role in the production and export of the SideRunner platform for clients in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and other international markets.
