Peci responds to statements about bombs: Those who threaten bloodshed are criminals

Statements by former AAK MP Daut Haradinaj that participants in the protest outside the Assembly of Kosovo had weapons and bombs have drawn a strong response from Faton Peci, mayor of Mitrovica and co-chair of the Guxo Party.

In his response, Peci does not name anyone, but describes as criminals those who, he says, threaten bloodshed, blackmail institutions and make direct threats against citizens’ elected representatives. He alleges that these individuals also use television studios to put pressure on judicial authorities.

Peci devotes part of his response to claims about his arrest. According to him, fear of action by the justice system is driving these individuals to draw comparisons by claiming that a mayor who previously served as a minister will be arrested because an MP’s brother was included on a list of grant recipients. Peci insists that the person they are referring to has not received a single cent.

Peci, who headed the Ministry of Agriculture from 2021 until December 2025, says that in the coming days he will bring renewed attention to what he calls organized crime, misuse of property and extortion in agriculture.

He says he will expose the people he is addressing for who they are, stressing that he has no respect for them and is not afraid of them.

Other Vetëvendosje officials have also responded to Haradinaj’s statements about bombs at the protest. Among them, Alban Krasniqi offered an ironic reply. [INTERNAL LINK: Alban Krasniqi responds ironically to Daut Haradinaj: I do not carry bombs to threaten MPs]

In his full post, Peci expresses outrage and describes those he is addressing as criminals.

He accuses them of warning of bloodshed and admitting that they were heavily armed, while blackmailing institutions and directly threatening elected representatives. According to him, they use television studios, which he describes as bought off and willing to sell themselves, to try to build causes and put pressure on justice institutions.

Peci writes that their messages contain death threats and references to bombs they possess. Then, he says, fear of intervention by the justice system drives them to draw parallels with the possible arrest of a mayor and former minister, simply because an MP’s brother appeared on a list of grant recipients, even though he has not received a single cent. For these actions, he again labels them criminals.

Referring to his work throughout his term as minister, Peci says that in the coming days he will once again expose the organized crime, property abuses and extortion that, he says, existed in the agricultural sector.

He warns that he will expose the people he is addressing, explaining his stance by saying that he has no respect for them and does not fear them.

As a second and more important reason, Peci cites his love for blessed Kosovo, which he sees as his sacred homeland and not as an asset to be plundered. According to him, Kosovo must not be allowed to be stolen, bought or sold.
