MPs from the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance have called on the Vetëvendosje Movement to convene the continuation of the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly.

During their appearance in the plenary chamber on Wednesday, representatives of the two parties claimed that LVV was deliberately obstructing the formation of the new institutions.
Speaking on behalf of PDK, MP Arian Tahiri said that the Vetëvendosje Movement, through Avni Dehari, who is chairing the constitutive session, was leading society and the country toward anarchy.
“This is a day when the public and the citizens of Kosovo can see that the doors of the Assembly are being closed and that the Assembly is being blocked… A bandit organization cloaked in the mantle of power, which, through that power, is attacking the constitutional order and attempting to plunge our society and country into anarchy,” he said.
Alliance MP Besnik Tahiri also reacted to the failure to convene the constitutive session of the eleventh legislature, describing it as a violation of sovereignty and the constitutional order.
“Sovereignty belongs to the people; it belongs to the elected institutions. We who are here were elected, while the blocking of the Kosovo Assembly is an infringement of sovereignty and the constitutional order. We will not allow citizens’ right to have institutions to be violated in any way,” he added.
