Operation “Organizer” Leads to Arrest of Egyptian Man Suspected of Helping Migrants Reach the EU

Tirana Police have concluded the operation codenamed “Organizer,” under which a suspected human trafficking operation was dismantled. Egyptian citizen A. H., 34, a resident of Krujë, was arrested on suspicion of organising the transport of migrants to European Union countries.

According to official information, the 34-year-old had set up a scheme to avoid police checks. Rather than moving migrants in groups, he transported them individually towards border areas in order not to attract attention on the roads.

Following operational intelligence, police intervened and caught the Egyptian national in the act. He was stopped on the motorway near Rinas while travelling by car towards Shkodër with a fellow Egyptian citizen, whom he is suspected of intending to help cross the border illegally.

During the operation, police seized his mobile phone as material evidence. The device is expected to help identify communications and other individuals who may have been involved in this trafficking network, which is suspected of operating in exchange for substantial payments.

“Investigations so far suggest that the 34-year-old was the organiser of assistance provided to foreign nationals, mainly from Egypt, for the illegal crossing of borders. Intensive work is under way to fully document this citizen’s criminal activity,” police officially announced.

The procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Tirana Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for further legal action.
