Nikolloski calls for a solution for transporters and the free movement of goods

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikolloski said clearly during a business forum held today at the Chamber of Commerce that a solution must be found to the issue facing transporters and that the unhindered movement of goods must be guaranteed, without waits, delays or unnecessary barriers.

In his remarks, he also highlighted the problem of unfair competition in tendering processes for infrastructure projects within the European Union.

According to him, the largest contracts are being awarded to companies from China and India, while European firms are being excluded from these opportunities.

Nikolloski stressed that taxpayers’ funds should not leave the continent, but should instead be recycled into the economies of EU member states.

“I believe we are dealing with a real paradox. In the 21st century, with liberalizations already approved for a candidate country that has begun negotiations with the EU, it is absurd to discuss whether a transporter from Macedonia should count the days, hours and minutes before getting into a truck. If, on the one hand, we are faced with unfair competition and, on the other, the free movement of goods is not ensured, then no other discussion has any value. On the contrary, if we manage to resolve these two issues, the prospects are extraordinary,” Nikolloski declared./Telegrafi/
