According to the Ministry of Interior, although it has been reported that Mihailova has left North Macedonia, she is suspected of having entered Bulgaria illegally.
Through the Joint Contact Center with the Republic of Bulgaria, the Macedonian authorities also requested verifications from the Bulgarian Border Police. The latter made it known that no legal entry into the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria has been recorded for the person in question, the Ministry of Interior announced this afternoon.
Border control data show that Mihailova last entered Bulgaria in September 2025. In October 2025, according to the records, her exit from Bulgaria was registered, which implies entry into North Macedonia.
Iva Mihailova, who also holds Bulgarian citizenship, is facing charges before the courts of North Macedonia in connection with a fatal traffic accident.
