The operation was conducted from June 22 to July 5, 2026, in cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Directorate. The aim was to combat illegal arms trade and prevent cross-border crime.
During police actions, 35 raids were carried out, while inspections involved 548 people and 382 vehicles. Criminal proceedings will continue for the seized weapons and ammunition. Meanwhile, three hunting rifles, one air rifle, and 128 hunting cartridges will be subject to administrative proceedings.
Inspections at the “Tabanoc” and “Mexhitli” border crossings ended with the arrest of two people. In addition, during the pre-operational phase, pistols, cartridges, and three hand grenades were found and seized.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs assesses that operations of this kind help strengthen international police cooperation and curb the illegal circulation of weapons, ammunition, and explosive devices.
