After today’s hearing in the abuse case, Elenko Millanov, lawyer for former State Lottery director Përparim Bajrami, said that prosecution witness Andrej Krstevski confirmed the existence of a financial plan to purchase VLT machines. Krstevski is an adviser in the office of the current State Lottery director and previously served as a member of the company’s Supervisory and Management Boards.
“The testimony showed that the VLT machines were included in the financial plan and the public procurement plan, and that the procedure for carrying out the procurement had been initiated. The witness did not know whether they arrived after such an act had been issued,” Millanov said.

The lawyer added that more than thirty decisions of this kind are included in the material evidence presented to the court.
According to Millanov, the witness also confirmed that the machines are in the possession of the Macedonian Lottery and at its disposal. He described them as assets and property of the company, which, he said, can put them to use, especially since the Law on Games of Chance has also been amended.
Millanov said that the “State Lottery” is the only entity that issues licenses and has the right to organize games of chance or grant a license to a third party.
