Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski defended the position of former Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi’s defense, as Grubi is on trial for abuses at the “State Lottery.” Asked by journalists about the torch-lit celebrations and fireworks following Grubi’s release from house arrest, Mickoski said that the former deputy prime minister had not organized anything and had apologized.

“Regarding the exuberant atmosphere, yesterday I read in the media a statement in which the suspect and his family apologized to the public and the country’s citizens if the events had caused disturbances or anxiety,” he said.
According to Mickoski, Grubi and his family were not the organizers and do not intend to take responsibility for organizing such exuberant behavior by certain individuals.
“I think this is related to the character of certain individuals who believe that, through such a display, they are helping their fellow party members. But in my opinion, they are mistaken, because, on the contrary, they are making their position more difficult,” Mickoski said.
The prime minister added that Grubi is not in the same position as a free citizen, as he does not possess a passport and is not allowed to leave either the city or the country./Telegrafi/
