Kurti reacts after six LDK MPs oppose Sejdiu

According to Abdixhiku, these MPs have chosen not to implement the party Presidency’s decision to support Sejdiu’s candidacy.

“With great regret, six LDK MPs have decided not to respect the decision of the Presidency: Avdullah Hoti, Hykmete Bajrami, Armend Zemaj, Kujtim Shala, Arben Gashi and Janina Ymeri,” Abdixhiku declared.

Kurti spoke about the issue while heading to a meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Vetëvendosje Movement.

He stressed that the agreement reached with the LDK on the election of the president was intended to resolve the political crisis.

“We did not reach an agreement to elect the president democratically. Together with the Democratic League of Kosovo, we turned it into an agreement centered specifically on Professor Bekim Sejdiu, regarding whom we held a meeting with the Presidency and the Parliamentary Group of the Movement. I am now going to a meeting of the Parliamentary Group. Afterwards, I will be able to address you,” Kurti said.

His reaction came at a time when Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy for the post of President has faced uncertainty after six LDK MPs declared that they would not vote for him.
