The meeting between the two leaders is scheduled to begin at 18:00 and is expected to focus on the election of the President of Kosovo.

In recent days, Kurti and Abdixhiku have increased communication between them in an effort to reach a consensus following political developments that have made agreement on the process of electing the head of state necessary.
Although Vetëvendosje and the LDK have political differences, their meetings are being held with the aim of avoiding a new institutional crisis.
Before entering the meeting, Kurti briefly told the media that the parties were working to prevent the country from going to elections.
“We are continuing the meetings and trying to avoid elections. Until we reach an agreement, we need to maintain confidentiality. I always expect the best. Therefore, I am going to today’s meeting in good faith,” Kurti said.
Kurti added that the potential candidates for President would be kept secret until an agreement was reached.
It remains to be seen whether today’s meeting will bring the two sides closer together and whether they will agree on the next steps regarding the election of the President of Kosovo.
