In a public statement, Krasniqi said the matter should not be limited solely to suspicions of the misuse of financial resources. According to him, it should also be verified whether the case contains elements of treason against the country, sabotage, espionage, endangering national security and undermining the legal order.
He called for the investigation not to be assigned to individuals who, he claimed, had influenced the case’s previous closure. Krasniqi stressed that their role and responsibility should also become the subject of an investigation.
In his post, Krasniqi said the Prosecution should act urgently to reopen the investigation into the 1 million euros that, according to him, Gashi, Maxhuni and their associates in the AKI gave to Sheholli and his associates.
He called on the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council and the chief prosecutor to intervene immediately, while requesting clarification on where these funds ended up. Krasniqi also raised the question of which individuals, public figures, parties, NGOs, media outlets and portals were financed with the money.
