She made the position public on X following today’s meeting with Kosovo’s chief negotiator for European integration, Jeton Zulfaj. Their discussion focused on Kosovo’s path toward EU membership.
According to Kos, interventions in the law on the Specialist Chambers, if adopted and implemented, would mark a serious step backward in Kosovo’s European integration process. She stressed that respect for the rule of law and the independence of judicial institutions remain essential to preparing the next steps in this process.
In the same post, the commissioner praised Kosovo’s progress on reforms related to the rule of law and the Growth Plan, despite the institutional instability that has characterized the past two years. Kos also highlighted positive steps in preparations for membership in SEPA.
