The Israeli military announced today that it had killed a Hamas commander during an attack in central Gaza. The military identified him as Hamam Eid, saying he was responsible for drone production.

It accused Eid of recently working to restore the Hamas terrorist organization’s aerial capabilities, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire between the two sides began in October last year and was centered on the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the verified disarmament of Hamas.
However, the agreement has not been implemented over these months, as Israel has continued carrying out almost daily attacks across the enclave while expanding its military control in the Gaza Strip.
Since the ceasefire took effect in October, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, while 4 Israeli soldiers have also been killed.
